Plan your Pine Creek Valley getaway with us!
For the sportsman...
Keep Calm and Winter On
The winter months are focused on the area’s great snowmobiling, cross country skiing (on the Rails to Trails), bear season, and deer season. Get in the Christmas spirit of Dickens of a Christmas in nearby Wellsboro.
We Spring to Life
Trout season starts in the beginning of spring along with fly-fishing, spring gobbler season, Memorial Day activities, and the Slate Run Sportsmen’s Picnic. Fly fishermen can find equipment, supplies, and expert advice directly across from us at Slate Run Tackle Shop. In addition, the Pine Creek Rail Trail is open for bicyclists, hikers and cross country skiers year round. Enjoy over 60 miles of world-reknowned trails from Jersey Shore to Wellsboro.
Summer Breeze and Creek Life
In the summer months, we send people down to Williamsport for the area’s largest fireworks display on the fourth of July (but if you’re lucky you can catch some smaller, local shows nearby). Late August ushers in the Little League World Series with the world descending upon Williamsport for the global games. Float Pine Creek from the comfort of an inner tube or kayak as long as the water level is high enough! Our water has been known to warm up nicely in the summer heat.
Fall for Us
The fall brings the Slate Run Sportsmen’s Picnic leading into archery and turkey seasons. Try your hand (or arm) at stirring the apples in the giant copper caldrons at the Apple Butter Festival in Waterville. The firefighters are glad to take a break from all that mixing! Take a drive out to the famous Pennsylvania State Flaming Foliage Festival in Renovo, now celebrating over 70 years of welcoming autumn.
